Mrs. Linder

Who am I?  I am a fourth grade teacher in Hiram, Georgia. I graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 1997 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and earned a Master's degree in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University in 2000. I am presently earning my Educational Leadership certificate from Kennesaw State University

Why a class web site? As a teacher, I grew tired of my students not knowing where to search online. They would never know how to research topics and would often just end up playing games and entertaining themselves on the Internet instead of focusing on learning. I was also exhausted from trying to remember WebQuest sites, good lesson plan sites and integrating technology. A website made sense in order to truly integrate technology into the classroom.

Is this the first website you have developed? No, this is the fourth site that I have developed. This particular site was revamped last year when I got married. The former site was mstruss.com and it was structured a little different.

How can I develop a site for my class? Unfortunately, I do not have the time or resources to train other teachers on site development anymore. While I appreciated the emails about site development, I cannot devote as much time to email response as I used to regarding the site. I will still respond to emails regarding site development within 72 hours as I did before. I would suggest visiting the Teacher's Lounge page on this site and clicking on Technology Resources. These are basic sites that can walk a beginner through site development.
